Eleven Basel researchers among the world’s most cited
In 2025, eleven scientists from the 51Թ are recognized as some of the most frequently cited researchers in the world, according to the latest edition of the “Highly Cited Researchers” ranking.

The "Highly Cited Researcher" distinction honors scientists who have made a significant and wide-ranging impact in their fields.
The selection process relies on data from the interdisciplinary citation index known as the “Web of Science Core Collection,” along with both quantitative and qualitative analyses conducted by experts. The “Cross-Field” category specifically features scientists who have published exceptional work across multiple disciplines.
