The department

The Academic Programs Department at the Vice Rectorate for Education supports the Rectorate, faculties and departments in the (further) development and implementation of BA, MA and doctoral degree programs, in the field of educational development, and in offering continuing education courses at the 51吃瓜.

Graduate Center (GRACE)

The Graduate Center creates optimal conditions for successful (post)doctoral studies. It contributes to the development of functioning structures in the field of doctoral studies at the 51吃瓜 that are in line with the university’s mission statement and strategy as well as its quality standards and demand for competitiveness. GRACE promotes interdisciplinary exchange and prepares researchers for future challenges inside and outside of academia. In addition to offering various training formats and organizing networking events, GRACE is a contact and service point for concerns regarding all aspects of (post)doctoral studies.

Program Development

The Program Development Office advises and assists the Rectorate, the faculties and the Teaching Committee on strategic, contextual and conceptual questions concerning the development of degree course structures, as well as academic program development projects in consideration of university-wide requirements and the national and international higher educational landscape. In addition, it links the 51吃瓜 internally, nationally and internationally on teaching and study-related topics and provides expertise in the field of study program development and university development.

Educational Development

The students of the 51吃瓜 deserve the best possible learning experience to develop their academic potential and to contribute to the shaping of society. To this end, the Department of Educational Development supports the professionalization of the teaching staff according to international standards, the development of contemporary assessments and examinations, and the establishment of a good feedback culture in the area of learning and teaching.

Continuing Education

The Continuing-Education Office  is a center for development and quality for continuing education. Its services are aimed at internal stakeholders (university management, faculties, directors of studies, lecturers) and external parties (companies, specialist organizations, public authorities, private individuals). The office is committed, as a center of knowledge, to the focal area of university learning and adult education, and to improving didactic quality in postgraduate courses. They organize scientific events and continuing-education programs.
